 About Countryside

Countryside of Surprise is a cozy, family-oriented community consisting of 768 lots. We are located along Reems Road between Greenway and Waddell Roads in Surprise, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. Our community is about 24 miles northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with convenient access to AZ State Route 303 and US-60.

Countryside of Surprise is served by the Dysart Unified School District. Children in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade attend Countrysides Elementary while those in high school attend Valley Vista High School.

The first homes in Countryside of Surprise began going up in 1999 with the last homes built in 2003. In late 2002, the first elections were held, giving the Homeowners control of the Association. Since then, the Board of Directors has worked hard to create a pleasant and beautiful community.

Bordering our community on the northwest is the Surprise Center Recreation Campus (Surprise Center). The Recreation Campus is the city’s new square-mile plus downtown development located between Bell and Greenway, Litchfield and Bullard Roads. The first amenity to open was the 10,562-square-foot Aquatic Center in May of 2002. Following the Aquatic Center was Maricopa County’s Northwest Regional Superior Court and the 23,000-square-foot Northwest Regional Library.

In February 2003, the first Cactus League games were played in the City of Surprise. The Surprise Center is the Spring Training home of the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers. The 10,500-seat-multi-purpose Recreation and Major League Spring Training Campus sits on 125 acres in the vicinity of Bullard Avenue and Greenway Road.

In addition to the amenities listed above, the Surprise Recreation Campus contains the Surprise Community Park. The park opened in the summer of 2002 and features a 5-acre lake, basketball and tennis courts, and a 6,000 square foot playground of dreams. Other amenities include sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, walking and biking trails, an ADA Field of Dreams, dog park, twenty-plus tennis and raquet facility and multi-purpose athletic fields.

Countryside of Surprise is managed by a volunteer group of homeowners from within the community whom are elected to serve on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is assisted in their administration of the Association by a contracted property management company, currently City Property Management. All contacts, inquiries and correspondence to the Countryside of Surprise Homeowners Association can be made to:
